Candle-lit Wedding at the Omni King Edward Hotel in Toronto

The Omni King Edward Hotel is a venue that is like no other, the architectural features hints to it’s longstanding history in Toronto ( it was originally built in 1903!) and the stunning panoramic city view is guaranteed to take your breath away. When we met with Alana and Brendon, it was important to compliment those elements of the Crystal Ballroom.

For Alana’s bouquet, we went with a classic white consisting of white O’Hara garden roses, ranunculus, stock and our mainstay, white majolica spray rose.

We wanted to create a statement for the ceremony, so we designed lush floral arch to complement the opulence of the Sovereign ballroom.

Another favorite design element of their wedding was their custom mirrored seating chart. If we could create one for each and every wedding, we would! Magnolia Calligraphy did amazing work creating these pieces for their wedding.

Although, the Crystal Ballroom is stunning, it was a challenge to create a warm and intimate feeling with a 5000 sq ft space that has floor to ceiling windows. It was also important to them to keep the floral design classic and simple. So how did we achieve that warm and cozy feeling they wanted? Candles!

The centerpieces were grouped candles surrounded by a garland sprinkled with blush blooms. Candles were also strategically placed throughout the venue, to create a space that felt familiar, warm and inviting.

Our intention was to replicate the feeling of being cozied up in a dim lit restaurant, sitting in a corner booth or even at a close friend’s place, sipping wine and enjoying great conversation. We wanted their guest’s to feel “at home” as they entered the Crystal Ballroom.
