The Wedding Designer Behind BLUUMBLVD
One thing that many people notice about me is my passion and my creativity. I’ve been creative my entire life, as a kid I’d always be working on little art projects and leaving them all around the house ( I lived for Art Attack, remember that show??) Until this day, I live to create, and I experimented with different things, but my heart rested on flowers. It wasn’t until after I was married that I played around with flowers and knew this was something I wanted to do as a career.
Here are some random facts about me:
My favourite season of the year is summer because I love the HEAT.
I love the Sound of Music and can sing “Do-Re-Mi” all day everyday.
My idea of a good time is good food and great conversation… and a couple glasses of wine wouldn’t hurt - Reisling-Gewurztraminer please.
I can make an apple pie from scratch and it’s pretty darn good.
I’ll delight you with one of my many family nicknames, one of them being Piggie Smalls - don’t ask!
In my opinion, flowers not only add beauty to a space but they have a holistic element to them, a yellow coloured bloom can put as smile on your face while a dark flower can make you feel somber and reflective. Flowers can affect a person’s emotions and that’s why I genuinely feel that having a pretty wedding is so much more than putting flowers on the table. It affects the mood and feeling your guests will feel when they walk in the room.
During this pandemic, it really has forced people to “trim the fat” on life and focus on what’s important and it’s translated into weddings as well. Your wedding is your stepping stone to a brand new life with your partner, an event that celebrates the depth, width and height of your love for each other. So for some designers, it may be just another event on the calendar, but I know the importance of this day for the both of you.
